Project: Project planning training and facilitation for a major UK food producer.
Brief: Food producer Ardo UK had an opportunity to move into British peas for the frozen food market. To meet the complex demands of British retailers the product line would require a new supply chain and a range of cross-functional processes. To ensure the success of the diversification, the UK board decided it needed a more coherent project planning approach. The brief was to help the board agree a new project planning process and then facilitate them in writing a project plan.

Project: Bringing a national charity to a professional close while transferring some operations to a new organisation.
Brief: Government cuts meant the UK Public Health Association, an independent voluntary organisation promoting sustainable development and equality, was no longer tenable.
HR Restructuring Case Study: National Charity
Project: Supporting a national arts charity as it closed down a loss-making retirement home.
Brief: When annual losses of nearly £750,000 meant a nursing home was no longer viable, the charity owner needed help to formulate a diplomatic and sensitive closure plan. It also wanted to ensure it treated the nursing home’s 50 employees well and that they stayed motivated to deliver a good service during the final months.
HR Competency Framework Case Study: Southeast-based Manufacturer
Project: Developing an integrated competency framework.
Brief: A major manufacturer in the southeast had invested heavily in a new plant. However, the existing skills base offered limited flexibility which meant many hours’ downtime when things went wrong. To make the most of the investment the HR director wanted to develop a multi-skilled workforce. The company also wanted a more flexible pay structure to reward employees who developed new skills. The first step was to make a comprehensive list of competencies in the manufacturing processes.
